2G Picks Tecnomen MMS

ESPOO and VANTAA, Finland -- Tecnomen has been chosen to deliver a multimedia messaging service centre (MMSC) to Finnish 2G Ltd. 2G is a GSM/GPRS network operator whose service provider customers include DNA and Telia Mobile. Tecnomen MMSC allows end-users to send and receive multimedia messages that combine text, sound, images and, in the future, video. Tecnomen MMSC allows the users of MMS handsets to send multimedia messages, not only to other multimedia-capable phones, but also to legacy devices. MMS-capable phones can also send multimedia messages directly to any email address. Users who do not have MMS-capable handsets receive an SMS notification and can connect to a service provider’s website to view their MMS message. Furthermore, Tecnomen MMSC includes a Multimedia Mailbox, a permanent multimedia message storage and customisable message management system for users with or without multimedia-capable handsets.
