Tekelec appoints Stuart Kupinsky as general counsel

MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), a leading developer of high-performance network applications for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks, announced that Stuart H. Kupinsky has joined the company as its senior vice president of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel. He reports to Tekelec President and CEO Frank Plastina.

Kupinsky most recently served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Cadence Innovation LLC in Troy, Mich. Previously, Kupinsky served as the general counsel for Exide Technologies, a multibillion dollar public company in Alpharetta, Ga. Kupinsky also served as the general counsel of Teligent, Inc. in Vienna, Va., and as an attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and with the Federal Communications Commission following private practice and a clerkship.
Kupinsky received a juris doctorate from George Washington University School of Law, where he graduated with honors and was a member of the law review. He also received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University.
