ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Spirent Communications (NYSE: SPM; LSE: SPT), today unveiled the industry's most comprehensive test solution suite that encompasses all components of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network.

The Spirent IMS Test System addresses testing needs from a wireline and wireless perspective, to ensure the network's readiness to support and quickly deliver next generation multimedia applications and services.

"IMS is about deploying multimedia services that can drive revenues and increase subscriber loyalty," said Brian Partridge, senior industry analyst, The Yankee Group. "One of the early challenges for IMS has been the lack of end-to-end testing solutions. The availability of a broad testing suite and the ability to transfer testing scenarios and methodologies from the lab to the field will be a real benefit to engineers and will help drive IMS development into the fast lane."

Successful IMS deployments are dependent on rigorous testing of the access network, the core network, the attached endpoints, and validating the interconnections between the legacy IP network and the new IMS architecture. Spirent's IMS Test System offers an end-to-end solution suite that enables equipment vendors and service providers to quickly test performance, conformance, and interoperability of various network elements and systems across the entire product lifecycle.

"The Spirent IMS Test System offers the broadest IMS testing capabilities available today," said Bahaa Moukadam, vice president, IP Telephony, Spirent Communication. "By selecting Spirent, service providers and system developers can streamline their testing process, and confidently and rapidly test their new products, IMS architectures and deployed services."
