RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Hatteras Networks, the global leader in multi-service Ethernet solutions for enterprise access services and next-generation mobile backhaul, announced today it has once again been recognized by Heavy Reading as the dominant provider of Ethernet over bonded copper pair solutions to carriers worldwide. Heavy Reading’s recently released Carrier Ethernet Access Platform Quarterly Market Tracker report, reinforces Hatteras’ leadership position in the expanding Ethernet over bonded copper market with its prominent, award-winning Ethernet service delivery solutions.
According to the Heavy Reading report, Hatteras firmly out ships all competitors supplying Ethernet over bonded copper platforms for the four-quarter period ending 2Q09 with an estimated 42% market share. Hatteras Networks’ Ethernet service delivery solutions, deployed by hundreds of carriers across five continents, are meeting growing customer demand by delivering highly innovative, flexible, scalable, easy-to-manage solutions that enable service providers to quickly expand top-line growth.
“We estimate the global market for Ethernet over bonded copper pair platforms grew 9% quarter-over-quarter from 1Q09 to 2Q09,” said Stan Hubbard, senior analyst with Heavy Reading and author of the report. “Growth again was fueled by a large number of deployments primarily in EMEA and North America for business services applications, with platforms also used for intelligent transportation systems, mobile, and DSLAM backhaul applications. Hatteras is growing sales on a consistent basis and benefiting from multiple drivers, including new business services-related retail and wholesale deployments with various network operators, and emerging mobile backhaul deployments such as Faroese Telecom.”
“Hatteras is enjoying strong global growth and gaining continued market share in deployments through the economic downturn,” said Kevin Sheehan, CEO of Hatteras Networks. “It’s very gratifying to continue to accelerate and hold the top position, as reported by Heavy Reading, as well as delivering the industry’s recognized best-in-class product platforms that service providers need for the roll-out of Ethernet services worldwide.”
