LAS VEGAS -- BEA Systems (Nasdaq: BEAS - News), a world leader in enterprise and communications infrastructure software, today announced a new partnership with Iperia, an emerging leader in carrier-grade unified messaging applications. The two companies will integrate Iperia's ActiveEdge and IperiaVX platforms and applications with BEA WebLogic SIP Server(TM), the industry's first converged Java EE-SIP-IMS application server, and BEA WebLogic Portal(TM), a leading enterprise portal platform designed for streamlined custom portal development. The resulting joint solution is being designed to provide telecom network operators, as well as enterprises with a SIP-enabled, converged communications platform for delivering unified communications services and applications, such as an integrated inbox for accessing voicemail, fax, email, SMS, etc., voice mail, auto attendant, and conferencing. With this joint solution, customers can experience improved productivity and decreased costs through tighter integration with their existing employee productivity tools, and Java EE-based application infrastructure.
Iperia is the latest company to join the BEA telecom partner ecosystem which currently includes more than thirty-five partners. Targeting the need for businesses to be more responsive to customers, agile to dynamic market conditions, and productive for employees and business partners, BEA and Iperia have agreed to deliver a joint, SIP-enabled, unified communications services solution for service providers and enterprise customers.
By deploying the Iperia Unified Messaging, Auto Attendant, and Conferencing applications on BEA WebLogic SIP Server, and BEA WebLogic Portal, based on industry standards such as SIP, SIP Servlet API (JSR 116), Portlet API (JSR 168), SOAP, and Web Services, BEA and Iperia are working to help customers tightly integrate unified communications functionality into their SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and portal development projects. The combined solutions will be designed to enable telecom network operators to increase their enterprise revenue streams by enabling the rapid development and deployment of new communications services targeted at business users. Enterprise customers will be able to experience improved productivity, increased flexibility, and decreased costs through tighter integration with their SFA (Sales Force Automation), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and back office systems.
"In today's competitive telecom market network operators require new and flexible communications infrastructure software that can enable them to quickly create and launch new services," said Mike McHugh, vice president and general manager, BEA WebLogic Communications Platform, BEA Systems. "We see the integration of BEA WebLogic SIP Server with Iperia's standards-based approach to delivering unified communication services like voice mail, auto attendant, fax services, and conferencing as a fundamental key to providing an adaptable solution that service providers can offer for real differentiation; we are pleased to partner with them in this effort."
