LOS GATOS, Calif. -- Procera(R) Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: PRNW), a pioneering developer of carrier-grade network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, today announced that Gardonville Cooperative Telephone Association has chosen Procera's PacketLogic(TM) platform to meet the technical assistance requirements of CALEA lawful intercept regulations, and to manage bandwidth for the cooperative's state-of-the-art broadband and video services.

Serving the rural communities of Garfield, Brandon, Evansville, Millerville and surrounding areas, Gardonville provides voice, video and data services throughout its region and has recently expanded to provide wireless data services in neighboring Alexandria in competition with that community's incumbent provider. As a member-owned cooperative telephone company, Gardonville's focus is on providing top-tier services to its subscribers -- including high-quality, low-latency broadband services, an extensive menu of analog and HD IPTV services and, in the near future, fiber-to-the-home throughout the service area.

Broadband usage has grown rapidly for the co-op, driven largely by full- or part-time telecommuters in the communities and in tourist cabins at nearby lakes. Gardonville has deployed four PacketLogic 7600 platforms in its central offices to manage broadband traffic, assure service levels for latency-sensitive applications like IPTV, and to assure compliance with the U.S. lawful-intercept regulation CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Agencies).

"We looked at a number of other traffic and service management solutions, but the PacketLogic products offered the deepest level of inspection -- a critical factor in accurately identifying and managing our network traffic," said Andy Erickson, network engineer for Gardonville Cooperative Telephone. "Through PacketLogic we can easily troubleshoot the network; for example, if we see an inordinate amount of upstream traffic from a given user, we can instantly throttle it back to snuff out viruses, botnets and other malware. And with its CALEA capabilities, PacketLogic provides us with a complete network management solution."
