SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- NetScaler, Inc., the leading provider of web application traffic control systems, announced today that it scored the highest marks in the industry’s first independent content switch product review sponsored by Light Reading, Byte and Switch, Ixia and EANTC (European Advanced Networking Test Center). Sixteen companies were invited to participate in the tests, however, only NetScaler, Extreme Networks and WinCom Systems Inc. were up to the challenge. NetScaler received an overall performance score of 4.3 out of 5 and also offered the most-cost effective solution at half the price as the other products tested. “NetScaler’s product turned in an outstanding performance in what was the most comprehensive Layer 7 switch test ever conducted,” said Peter Heywood, Cofounder of Light Reading. "We congratulate NetScaler on its remarkable results.” NetScaler’s Secure Application Switch received the best overall score in the test, winning first place in each group of tests including HTTP performance (session rate and capacity, latency and load balancing), TCP performance (connection rate and capacity) and security (resilience to denial of service attacks and secure sockets layer performance). “NetScaler is setting new standards for Layer 7 content switches and is committed to providing the best price to performance product available today,” said BV Jagadeesh, president and CEO. “We are pleased that Light Reading acknowledges our dedication in providing IT professionals with robust tools designed to secure and protect their business-critical web applications.” The tests were undertaken by EANTC (European Advanced Networking Test Center), a vendor-neutral test facility based in Berlin, using the Ixia 1600T performance analyzer, running the IxWeb content switch test suite from Ixia. To ensure the impartiality of the results, the test was paid for entirely by Light Reading and its storage-networking sister-site, Byte and Switch (www.byteandswitch.com), which is also publishing the results today. The full results of the test are available on Light Reading’s Light Testing website located at www.lightreading.com/testing. NetScaler Inc.
