MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- NetLogic Microsystems, Inc., the leader in packet classification and forwarding solutions for networking and communications, today announced the appointment of Don Witmer as vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). In his new role, Witmer will be responsible for the company's financial accounting and reporting, investor relations, and human resource operations.

"Don brings a wealth of financial expertise and well-demonstrated leadership to the company," said Ron Jankov, president and CEO of NetLogic Microsystems. "His broad financial operations experience for private and public companies makes him a strong addition to the executive team. We are excited to have him on board as the company enters its next phase of growth."

"NetLogic is a proven technology leader in the network search engine market," said Don Witmer. "With its advanced core and glue-less solutions, outstanding engineering capabilities, and passionate employees, the company has already made strong inroads into the data communications and networking infrastructure industry. I look forward to contributing my financial and international experience to sustaining this momentum and preparing the company's expansion for the future."

Witmer joins NetLogic after two years as the chairman and CEO of Home Director, a home networking company, where he led the company through a successful financial restructuring and strategic business realignment. Prior to Home Director, he was the president and CEO of Digital Interiors before it merged with Home Director in 2001. Before Digital Interiors, Witmer served as the president and CEO of Amazing Smart Card Technologies, a smart card solutions company. Witmer's strong financial background also stems from his experience as the CFO of DeltaPoint, a Web site software company, and prior to that as the CFO of Catalyst Semiconductor. He guided both, DeltaPoint and Catalyst Semiconductor, through each company's initial public stock offering.
