6:00 PM -- Today on Contentinople:

  • Netflix beat analyst expectations for its fourth-quarter results after an influx of new subscribers, reporting earnings of $22.7 million, or 38 cents a share, on revenues of $359.6 million.

  • Though the inauguration is over, the battle over who streamed the event the most rages on. Limelight claims 9 million streams total on inauguration day, to Akamai's 7 million, although the numbers keep changing.

And in today's News Bits, VUDU lays off 15 percent of its staff.
