Suzhou selects Nagravision conditional access solutions to migrate its platform from analog to digital

SINGAPORE -- Nagravision, a KudelskiGroup (SWX:KUD.VX) company, today announced that Suzhou Digital TelevisionCompany Ltd has selected Nagravision latest conditional access for the launch andtransition of the digital cable TV services from analog for its subscribers in Suzhou.By adopting Nagravision’s technology, Suzhou digital programming package will expandto more than 200 channels from its current offering of 50 analog channels. Nagravision’sleading digital technology will support Suzhou Digital Television Company Ltd’s businessand security needs enabling the company to launch more advanced business modelsand services on a secure and flexible platform.

Founded in December 1999, Suzhou Cable TV Network Company Ltd, authorized byPeople’s Government of Jiangsu Province, is responsible for the construction,development, management and administration of a cable TV network and thetransmission of cable TV programs around Suzhou. The company has laid about 6000kilometers of fibers in the city of Suzhou, and its hybrid fiber and cable network iscovering Suzhou urban district, high-tech development zones and industrial parksserving nearly 700,000 TV users. Its network can connect with the backbone networks inJiangsu Province constituting an open-type wideband comprehensive transmissionnetwork with large capacity.
