Multilink partners with Magma Design Automation for design of next-generation VLSI products

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Multilink Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: MLTC), a leading provider of advanced semiconductor-based solutions that accelerate the deployment of high-speed optical networks, today announced that it is collaborating with Magma Design Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq: LAVA), a provider of chip design solutions, on the design of next generation Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) products using CMOS technologies at 0.13 micron and below. The two companies will combine Multilink's systems knowledge and design capabilities with Magma's physical design technology to develop flows and techniques that meet time to market demands and accelerate the production of superior performance VLSI products for the communications market. "By leveraging Magma's Blast Fusion(TM) physical design system and Blast Noise(TM) signal integrity technology, Multilink is able to reduce the time required for the design phase and continue its superior performance while meeting the critical time-to-market needs of Multilink's customers," said William Reinisch, executive director of technology.
