Moto Losing Network Mojo

Unstrung has removed this story upon discovering that the findings of ABI Research's report -- questioning the long-term financial viability of Motorola Inc.'s (NYSE: MOT) infrastructure division -- is based on inaccurate data.

ABI's red-faced confession can be found here: ABI Revises Base Station Data

re: Moto Losing Network Mojo Can some one explain to me where the 4% market share estimate came from? According to Motorola's annual report network revenue declined from 02 to 03 by 4%.

If the drop in market share really was from 12% to 4% that would imply that the market grew by almost 200%.

I guess thats possible, but wouldn't unstrung have had more of a story on that?

re: Moto Losing Network Mojo The drop in market share from 12% to 4% is based on actual base station shipments, rather than total revenue from Moto's wireless infrastructure division.

re: Moto Losing Network Mojo Hmmm...this might explain why I have never heard of ABI Research.

Shenanigans! Where is my broom?

Will we see a News Analyis of the restatement?
