More Landline Phone Numbers Moving to Mobile

Last week the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released its one-year report on wireless telephone local number portability (LNP). According to the report, over the last year more than 8.5 million consumers have taken advantage of wireless LNP by moving their phone numbers to a competitive mobile provider. Of that total, the FCC says just under 10 percent of consumers 'cut the cord' and moved a landline number to a wireless phone. With some 800,000 consumers dropping their landline for a cell phone, MSO are wise to be investigating options to integrate mobile communications with their cable VoIP offerings.
