More AT&T 4G LTE Markets Spring Up

AT&T Inc. has launched six new LTE towns and cities as it pushes to try and cover nearly 300 million Americans with the 4G technology by the end of the year. The new markets are:
  • Flint, Mich.
  • Kokomo, Ind.
  • Morgantown, W.Va.
  • Petersburg, Va.
  • Shelbyville, Ky.
  • Springfield, Mo.
AT&T is also expanding its LTE network in Denver and Northwest Mississippi. AT&T currently has 188 live LTE markets. AT&T said on its first-quarter earnings call this week that it now expects to complete "nearly 90 percent" of its planned deployment to cover 300 million people with LTE by the end of this year. This is up from an original goal of 250 million people covered. (See AT&T Says LTE Deployment Is Ahead of Schedule.) The operator promised earlier this month to have at least 77 new LTE markets live by the end of the summer. You can find a full list of the planned launches here. Here's where AT&T and the rest of the U.S. operators are at with LTE launches so far:
