Moonves Keeps His Cool

4:00 PM -- Today on Contentinople:

  • CBS CEO Les Moonves isn't feeling threatened by Disney's move to join News Corp. and NBCU at Hulu, he said on the company's first-quarter earnings call today. So far, Moonves seems to be resisting the pressure to join Hulu and remains confident in CBS's Hulu competitor, TV.com. "TV.com is doing extremely well. We like the ability to control our own content -- where and when it goes. We don't like the idea of being exclusive to Hulu," he says.

  • A Level 3 exec claims the company is better positioned than ever to serve customers, despite recent management shakeups.
And in today's News Bits, Google CEO Eric Schmidt says he won't quit Apple's board, despite an FTC inquiry into the matter. And Kindle can't say "Obama."
