The FCC's 5G Auction Rolls On

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) 's first 5G millimeter wave auction finished the day with $679 million in bids Monday.

The agency's auction dashboard lists total bids of $$678,953,160 for 2,907 28GHz licenses with provisionally winning bids (PWBs). The FCC still has 165 mmWave licenses available for bidding.

The auction started with 3,072 28GHz licenses in the US. This auction is expected to be quickly followed by a 24GHz license auction.

The bidding will start again at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday.
