Spectrum Scrap

5:55 PM -- Wireless spectrum is a finite resource, its a simple truth, but one that means that I suspect we'll see more battles like the current spat between AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) and Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) over the Clearwire LLC (Nasdaq: CLWR) deal and associated chunk of 2.5 GHz spectrum.
So, it is interesting to delve back in time and check out Martin Cooper's comments on spectrum back in 2002. "Spectrum is a public resource. We haven't treated it that way, but it's in the public interest to use it efficiently," Cooper, the inventor of the cellphone, told Unstrung back then.
