NEW YORK -- Light Reading, the market-leading online community for the global communications sector, today announced that the annual Big Telecom Event 2015 (BTE) (bigtelecomevent.com) will return to Chicago to bring industry insights and real-world, cutting-edge technology demonstrations to telecom executives following its tremendously successful inaugural event.
BTE 2015 is tripling the size of its demo hall and its education program. The event will take place June 9-10, 2015 at McCormick Place.
BTE will combine an unrivalled mix of interactive panels and presentations created and hosted by Heavy Reading's industry analysts with show floor demonstrations of networking technologies and applications as well as structured, targeted networking opportunities. BTE will cover software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), cloud services, next-generation communications network planning, small cell architectures, big data analytics, mobile network security, as well as three new areas of focus: utilities communications, Gigabit Cities and IoT.
"BTE 2014 was extremely well received by the industry. We are very excited to be growing our 2015 event," said Stephen Saunders, Founder and CEO of Light Reading. "In addition to a new, more spacious location, our demo hall showcasing technologies and applications will triple in size. We are also expanding our conference program and will offer four tracks as well as pre-event workshops. We will continue to recruit top-notch speakers from industry leaders that will look into the key trends driving the future of the industry. Our goal is to provide our audience with the intelligence they need to monetize next-gen networks."
Light Reading will also entertain the telecom community with a soccer tournament between telecom company teams as well as a "Battle of the Bands" contest.
More than 1,500 attendees from across the world, 60% of which were service providers, attended BTE's inaugural event in June 2014.
