CAMBRIDGE, UK -- Small cell end-to-end solution provider, ip.access, today confirmed that it was now accelerating the roll-out of a multi-million dollar small cell contract in Bahrain with Batelco, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s leading integrated communications operator.

With the commercial deployment of public access 3G Enterprise small cells well underway across the Kingdom of Bahrain, the contract also covers residential and SoHo indoor deployments across the region. Furthermore Batelco have also commenced a LTE Lab trial with a view of rolling out ip.access LTE small cells during 2015.

Acknowledging the role of the small cell in delivering guaranteed indoor coverage and capacity for key customers, Batelco’s A/CEO Muna Al Hashemi said: “Small cells give the flexibility to provide coverage exactly where our customers need it and mean we can maintain high quality of service levels at all times and in all locations.

“Throughout our selection and evaluation process, it was important to work with a vendor that could deliver not just best in class technology for small cells across all our different use cases but could also work seamlessly with Batelco and our existing suppliers to integrate the solution with our network,” added Mrs. Al Hashemi.
