CROATIA -- Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment, and MICRO-LINK d.o.o., a Croatian distributor and system integrator of wireless communication systems for digital data transmission, today announced that RedMAX WiMAX products, which are among the world's first WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) equipment, will be used to established the first commercial implementation of a certified WiMAX broadband network in Europe.

HT (HRVATSKE TELEKOMUNIKACIJE d.d.), a communications technology solutions provider owned by Deutsche Telekom, in accordance with license issued by the Croatian Telecommunication Agency, have initiated deployment of Redline's RedMAX products in the Cakovec area in the northern part of Croatia. The deployment has been fully supported by MICRO-LINK d.o.o. which has implemented the system on a turnkey basis.

"We are pleased to be the first to implement the first WiMAX network in the country, and to bring the most advanced broadband services to our customers," said Jure Brkljacic (Head of Section for Acc. Networks and BB access nodes), HT (Hrvatske Telekomunikacije d.d.). "This implementation is being professionally deployed by one of the most experienced wireless system integrators. HT and MICRO-LINK are working closely together to ensure the deployment is being carried out in accordance to all technical conditions posed by the Croatian Telecommunication Agency. We look forward to the official launch of our WiMAX service following the completion of the technical survey by the Croation regulator (CTA)."

During the installation and commissioning of the system, MICRO-LINK engineers, supported by Redline representatives, conducted drive tests and RF measurements and confirmed excellent results and NLOS capabilities of the system. The system will be a part of a larger broadband wireless access network enabling HT to broaden their scope of services and offer wireless broadband data, voice and video (triple play) services for residential and business users. By taking the leading position in this radically new standards based wireless technology, HT will expand their ADSL business and, by developing a nationwide WiMAX network will contribute to the development of high speed data connectivity in Croatia.

"We have had much success with broadband wireless access products and have been deploying them in Croatia for several years now," said Dragutin Jankovic, Key Account & Business Development Director, MICRO-LINK. "Now that we have installed the first WiMAX network in the world using high quality Redline products we strongly believe that the interest for BWA equipment will significantly increase.
