The good news: Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) streaming has finally reached Android devices. The bad news: Only four phones in the Android lineup (and no tablets) made the first cut. Netflix's primary reason for such sparse support: The lack of "generic and complete platform security."
Dish Network LLC (Nasdaq: DISH) sends us word that "DISH Phone & Internet" is the brand that will grace telecom services sold through Liberty-Bell Telecom, a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) Dish bought late last year. Dish expects to start selling a triple-play bundle in Colorado within the next 30 days.
Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) now has possession of the Bresnan Communications systems in pockets of Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah, and, as promised, retired the Bresnan brand on May 12 in favor of its own "Optimum" moniker. And the spots have started, with this one taking a shot at Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q)'s (now CenturyLink Inc. (NYSE: CTL)'s) DSL speeds:
