Facebook is now, without a doubt, a mobile-centric company, and it has the statistics to prove it.
According to the social media giant's second-quarter financial report, the company has 1.32 billion monthly active users, up by 14% from a year earlier, of which 1.07 billion access the service using a mobile device, up 31% from a year earlier.
Significantly, 399 million of those monthly active users (about a third of the total active user base) log in exclusively via mobile devices, up from 219 million a year earlier.
That's having an impact on Facebook 's business. CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted that mobile adverts generated 62% of all ad revenues in the second quarter: Two years ago, that figure was a big fat zero. Total advertising revenues in the second quarter were $2.68 billion, with mobile ads accounting for $1.66 billion of sales, up 151% on a year ago.

Facebook reported $2.91 billion in total revenues, and earnings per share of 42 cents, for its second quarter, beating Wall Street expectations of $2.81 billion in sales and earnings of 32 cents per share.
Facebook's stock traded at $75.22, up 5.51%, in after-hours trading late Wednesday.
