SUNNYVALE, Calif. and KRANJ, Slovenia -- Telsima Corporation, a global leader in WiMAX systems, announced its OEM partnership agreement with Iskratel, Slovenia to market WiMAX broadband access products and solutions. Under the terms of the agreement Iskratel has integrated Telsima’s WiMAX products into Iskratel’s SI3000 Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) product and sells the Company’s wireless broadband solutions under its brand name SI3000 WiMAX; as a result the Telsima StarMAX 6400 and Iskratel SI3000 WiMAX share the same platform architecture and blades.

Iskratel is recognized as the leading developer and manufacturer of switching and access infrastructure solutions mostly in Central and Eastern Europe and CIS countries with over 50 years of experience selling to the 1st tier Russian service providers.

Mitja Jelnikar, Iskratel’s Sales and Marketing director, comments, "We are pleased to include Telsima’s WiMAX technologies in our infrastructure solutions portfolio and market them in Eastern Europe, Russia and other CIS markets. Iskratel’s WiMAX solutions have already been successfully deployed in Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Slovenia. The beauty of this solution is the ability to offer integrated WIMAX access into existing SI3000 MSAP product family which can provide any kind of broadband access. Telsima’s compelling product offering enables us to easily deliver fixed, portable and mobile WiMAX to our customers."

"Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States ("CIS", formerly part of the Soviet Union) have the perfect market conditions for the roll-out of WiMAX services as a solution to the problem of supplying last mile broadband access," explained Uros Pivk, Telsima’s Sales Director for EMEA. "In the countries of the Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States the percentage of broadband connections is relatively small and the demand for broadband data services is large and growing rapidly. Since most of the legacy fixed-line networks in these regions are not capable of supporting high speed connections broadband access in these markets will be wireless. An Iskratel/Telsima partnership is well suited to successfully market WiMAX solutions to the telecommunications service providers in these burgeoning markets."
