ATLANTA -- AT&T is getting ready to bring more mobile features to its U-Verse high-speed Internet and TV service early in 2014.
The operator has worked up a way to send photos to a user's TV via the U-Verse platform over WiFi. Once the phone is detected in the U-Verse home environment on WiFi, pictures can be streamed directly to the TV via the set-top box.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has also developed a phone finder capability over U-Verse. This means that if a user can't find his or her phone at home the person can make it ring at maximum volume even if it has been previously muted.
Finally, the operator is adding a feature that allows the caller ID on calls to a U-Verse subscriber's phone to flash up on screen when they are watching TV. The user then has a range of options in answering.
AT&T was showing off the new features at its Atlanta Foundry opening Tuesday. The mobile additions are expected to become available sometime in the first quarter of 2014.
