Apple Opens iPad Pre-Orders

11:20 AM -- Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) started accepting iPad pre-orders just three hours ago today, at 8:30 a.m. ET. So it begins.
Some are already estimating that Apple is selling 20,000 iPads per hour -- or $10 million worth.
The iPad will be available in Apple retail stores on April 3, 2010, slightly later than the "late March" launch originally planned. The pre-ordered devices can be delivered for free or picked up at an Apple store on that day, except for the 3G versions, which won't ship until late April.
Pre-orders are limited to two per customer. So try to contain yourself.
