Moto Mobility Posts Q2 Loss, Beats Estimates

Motorola Mobility LLC reported a net loss of $56 million for the second quarter, but beat analyst expectations. The company shipped 11 million mobile devices, including 4.4 million smartphones and 440,000 Xoom tablets during the quarter.
The mobile device maker earned $0.19 a share on revenues of $3.3 billion. In the year-ago quarter Motorola reported a gain of $80 million or $0.27 a share on revenues of $2.6 billion.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected a profit of 6 cents on revenue of $3.12 billion.
Shares of Motorola Mobility are down $1.11 (4.85%) to $21.80 in late-market trading.
