3:00 PM -- Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is continuing its Asia and European expansion this week, bringing the iPad to 11 additional countries, including the WiFi + 3G option for some.

The addition of Poland, Taiwan, Denmark, Portugal, The Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Malaysia, Finland, and South Korea bring Apple's total launches to more than 30 countries. (See Apple Dominating Tablet Takeover.)

Apple already has tablet competition in some of these markets, including Korea where the Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (Korea: SEC) Galaxy Tab launched last month. But, it's about to get a whole lot more. While Apple is busy expanding its global reach, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT), among others, are prepping their armies of tablet options. (See Tablet Parade Looks to an Apple Takedown.)

LG Electronics Inc. (London: LGLD; Korea: 6657.KS) , Acer Inc. , Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT), and Lenovo Group Ltd. (Hong Kong: 992) are amongst those prepping Android tablets. And, Cyber Monday and Black Friday already boasted Android's share of tablet offerings (some better than others) at retail outlets including Best Buy, Walgreens, and even Toys R Us. (See TelcoTV 2010: Future of TV Is Tablets, Moto Says.)

Of course, the next version of the iPad should be right around the corner as well. My guess is that January's Consumer Electronics Show is going to be overflowing with options.
