NEWBURY PARK, Calif. -- Nomadix, Inc. (http://www.Nomadix.com), a leading supplier of intelligent network devices and interconnect services for guest access, digital cities, and carrier HotSpots, is working with Telefonica Peru to deploy a web of 'coexisting' Internet HotSpots and municipal meshes. The service is targeted at Telefonica Peru's high number of mobile professionals, and will function as a pay-as-you-go Roaming IP service to all subscribers.

"Telefonica Peru's coexisting Wi-Fi networks will provide an unprecedented level of mobility," said Fernando Jimenez Motte, Internet Product Manager of Telefonica Peru. "Nomadix gateways are known for their flexibility, reliability, scalability, and ease-of-installment. The gateways are also rigorously secure, which is of the utmost importance to our financial services customers."

Telefonica Peru's Roaming IP services will be available in Lima and other key Peruvian provinces, and will also include Wi-Fi hotspots in 68 other countries through its partnership with iPass, a leading mobile broadband roaming provider located in Redwood Shores, California. Telefonica Peru expects the new services to drive exponential increases in new subscriptions as well as an increase in international Roaming IP above 2006 levels. The hotspots and mesh networks, deployed in airports, hotels, shopping centers, and other public spaces, will make Peru one of the preeminent wireless societies on the planet.
