REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), the world’s largest Wi-Fi network, today announced that it has extended its partnership with Deutsche Telekom AG, one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies. Through the partnership, Deutsche Telekom will now offer its business customers unlimited access to iPass’ global network of more than 20 million Wi-Fi hotpots, including airports, hotels, restaurants and other public areas. The iPass global network will increase to 50 million Wi-Fi hotspots by the end of 2015.
iPass Unlimited utilizes a Software-as-a-Service delivery model, with Wi-Fi provisioned as a service from the cloud. Through a single log-in, Deutsche Telekom’s enterprise customers can obtain automatic and unlimited access to cost-effective and secure global Wi-Fi via smartphones, tablets and laptops both at home and abroad.
“Wi-Fi has become a must-have for enterprises, especially for those that have a mobile workforce,” said Hans A. Panse, vice president business at Deutsche Telekom. “With iPass’ strategy of unlimited, everywhere, and invisible access, they are the ideal partner to help us meet our customers’ insatiable appetite for Wi-Fi wherever they are in the world. People don’t want to register with different networks or enter logins and passwords every time they connect to a different Wi-Fi network. They want a simple, hassle-free experience, which is exactly what we can offer with iPass.”
“We’re very excited about partnering with Deutsche Telekom to connect its customers globally. As one of the biggest telecommunications companies on the planet, with customers in more than 50 countries, Deutsche Telekom gives our Unlimited offering immense global reach,” said Patricia Hume, chief commercial officer, iPass. “Wi-Fi has become the connectivity option of choice for the vast majority of mobile workers. iPass Unlimited removes the need to worry about time or data constraints, allowing customers to enjoy unlimited usage across multiple devices without the meter running."
