Aperto Networks appoints Behrooz Parsay as vice president of engineering and Subir Varma as vice president of technology

MILPITAS, Calif. -- Aperto Networks, developer of the world's most advanced WiMAX base stations and subscriber units, announced today the appointment of Behrooz Parsay as vice president of engineering. Parsay will be based in Milpitas, Calif., and will report to Mike Pratt, president and CEO of Aperto Networks.

"We are immensely pleased to have an executive of Behrooz's talent and experience to join the Aperto team," said Mike Pratt, president and CEO of Aperto Networks. "In prior assignments, Behrooz has led development teams through periods of growth and maturation while delivering a range of sophisticated system solutions. His experience and leadership will serve Aperto well as we address the challenges and opportunities of this exciting market."

Parsay has a broad base of experience in developing and delivering carrier grade solutions in the wireline and wireless arenas. He has built engineering organizations from zero to a couple of hundred and has managed teams in multiple locations while delivering complex solutions on time and within budget.

Parsay began his career as an RF engineer and has held engineering management positions at L3 Communications, Ericsson, DIVA, Kestrel, and Lantern Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Chico State University, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.

Aperto Networks also announced that Dr. Subir Varma has been appointed vice president of technology. He will report to Mike Pratt and will oversee advanced technology planning, acquisition, and development.
