5G: Rewriting the Comms Rule Book

It's apparent that the 5G revolution that's already impacting the communications networking and services sector is a very different beast from the previous generational steps taken by our industry.

What might be classified as commercial 5G services or production 5G networks might be some way off -- the timescales are flexible, depending on who you're talking to -- but the 5G revolution is already impacting the decision-making processes at communications service providers around the world. In a nutshell, 5G is a big deal.

That's why we've created Light Reading 5G, a new home for our 5G coverage. You can find it right here.

In addition to the day-to-day reporting from the Light Reading team, you'll find special contributed columns from Heavy Reading analysts such as Gabriel Brown and industry experts. Here are a few highlights from our 5G coverage this week:

I hope you find Light Reading 5G useful. Let us know what you think on the message boards.

Re: Can't read this... Yes, the contrast can pose readability problems for some depending on the settings of the device being used. Not only the contract bu the type font size force me sometime to grab stronger reading glasses for my aging eyes.

Re: Can't read this... Where i live i dont have the 4G, only the 3G because of the bad network in my town. Nevertheless, i follow the 5G news because i really love technologies. But i hope providers will increase 4G compatibilty across the country.

Re: Can't read this... Thanks for your comments. Anyone else care to weigh on this? We always take in the concerns of our readers, obviously.

ugh... Well, although your views on 5G are very much interesting, I must say that I have struggled with reading it. Have you seen a preview before posting? If you have a grey background using grey font might not be the best idea. Regards.

Can't read this... @Ray & editors,

Please consider that most of your readers are beyond 18... At least I find it difficult to read grey text (lightness 110)  from greyish background (lightness 240).

Please! give me back the reading contrast; thanks.
