Vodafone Prices LTE

9:15 AM -- Vodafone Germany has revealed just how much its Long Term Evolution (LTE) service is going to cost when it launches later this month, according to LTE World. (See Ericsson, Huawei Land Vodafone LTE Gig.)

Vodafone is the first operator in Germany to set prices for LTE Zuhause ("LTE at Home") service, which will be available as a DSL replacement for broadband access in rural areas. Vodafone says it will cover 1,000 municipalities in the country by the end of this year. By March 2011, it plans to have covered 1,500 municipalities. (See German Operators Get Busy With LTE and V'fone Germany to Test LTE for Rural Broadband.

So how much will it cost? The reported figures are €69.99 (US$90) per month for 50-Mbit/s downlink speeds and a monthly data limit of 30 Gbytes; €49.99 ($64) per month for 21.6 Mbit/s downlink speeds and 15 Gbytes per month; and €39.99 ($51) for 7.2 Mbit/s and 10 Gbytes per month.

Presumably the downlink speeds are all "up to" network speeds. — Michelle Donegan, European Editor, Light Reading Mobile

re: Vodafone Prices LTE

I think both Denmark and Sweden have rolled out LTE. The Vodaphone price is certainly very reasonable. I was expecting it to be 100 to 200 dollar range.

Does any one know the pricing structure in Denmark and Sweden ? Has any one else offering LTE service in any other country ?

In Sweden, TeliaSonera has an offer on now for its LTE service of 359 Swedish kronor (US$49) per month for the first six months, then the price jumps up to 599 Swedish kronor ($82) per month. The monthly data limit for the 4G service is 30 GByte.

TeliaSonera also has LTE services in Oslo, Norway. I'm not sure whether LTE services are commercial in Denmark are not. I'll look into that.

Can you also send me an email at [email protected]. May be we could share other info as well.
