New Year, New 4G: At a Glance

It's only the first week of 2012 and new Long Term Evolution (LTE) markets are already popping up across the U.S.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has added 11 new markets to its LTE deployment. Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S), meanwhile, has revealed four of 10 LTE markets it intends to launch by mid-year.

Check out the locations across the U.S. below. AT&T's sites are in blue and Sprint's are in yellow.

In related news, U.S. Cellular Corp. (NYSE: USM) hints that its LTE service is coming soon. "4G is almost here! A tablet will be available by the end of March, and our first Smartphone will be ready in April," the operator tweeted. We don't know what specific cities U.S. Cellular will launch in yet, but the company does go on to note that it its LTE network will launch in "select cities" in Wisconsin, Maine, Iowa, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas in "early 2012."
