MWC15: Welcome to Barcelona!

BARCELONA -- Mobile World Congress -- The mobile industry has descended on Barcelona for an action-packed week of mobile devices, infrastructure updates and 5G fantasizing.

Light Reading was among the first to arrive -- some of us a few days early to take in the city and mentally prepare and others of us bright and early on Sunday, the unofficially official first day of the show, to the foreign sight of sunshine and no cab lines.

Here's a few snapshots from our first few days in the city, including snaps from Light Reading's pre-show soiree with 100 of our closest friends at "Jessica" Albas Granados. Click on the image below to launch the slide show.

All the updates from MWC15 will be on our dedicated show site here on Light Reading.

It is barely the work week, but MWC has already seen a lot of action. Here's a sampling of the pre-show stories below.

moving on up I don't mean to rub it in, but I have to say, the trade off of having a big, nice hotel room on the water versus not being close to all the sites is worth it to me this year! I didn't even post a picture of the free breakfast spread as I didn't want the rest of the team to feel bad about their cookies and crappy coffee.
