Is it possible that nobody actually wants to be the new Microsoft CEO?
Bloomberg reports that Ericsson AB (Nasdaq: ERIC) CEO Hans Vestberg has told his board that he will stay on at the infrastructure vendor. (See Report: Ericsson CEO on Shortlist for Microsoft Top Job.)
Vestberg had been said to be on a shortlist of candidates to replace outgoing Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) boss Steve Ballmer, who has said he will step down this year. (See Ballmer Bails on Microsoft.)
Ford CEO Alan Mulally, who had also reportedly been under consideration for the Microsoft job, said earlier this month that he plans to remain at the car maker.
