Thai Court Halts 3G Plan
Such holdups aren't new in Thailand. Late last year the country's leading mobile player, Advanced Info Service plc (AIS) , announced its 3G capex plans because it was confident the spectrum shenanigans that had been going on since 2005 were nearly over. Of course, it was wrong. (See AIS Unveils 3G Plans.)
By the time it's all sorted, 3G could be yesterday's technology, and carriers like AIS will be looking for spectrum that's appropriate for 4G.
