JERUSALEM and NEW YORK -- Vringo, the pioneer in video ringtone sharing, announced today that it has added Jim Ryan to its board of directors.
Ryan, who has senior management experience in value-added wireless services across the United States, Europe and Asia, recently assumed the role of CEO at Mobile Campus. Mobile Campus connects university students on a real-time, interactive basis to the people, information, content and offers that matter most to them in their university life.
Previously, he was vice president of consumer data services for Cingular Wireless/AT&T, the largest wireless carrier in the United States. He had responsibility for all Cingular wireless data products for the consumer market.
Prior to his position at Cingular, Ryan held executive positions with BT subsidiary O2, Sprint PCS, and Motorola subsidiary Ardis. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University.
“Vringo is excited to have this wireless-industry visionary join our board,” said Jon Medved, co-founder and CEO of Vringo. “Jim has been on the cutting edge of mobile solutions throughout his career. His counsel, insight and support as a board member will be instrumental in shaping Vringo’s growth in the wireless marketplace.”
“Jim Ryan’s global reputation will be an asset for Vringo,” said Dan Ciporin, chairman of Vringo’s board of directors. “I know I share the entire board’s enthusiasm as we extend a hearty welcome to him.”
“I’ve been excited about Vringo since I first learned of the company,” said Ryan. “It’s an honor to be invited to join the board, and I look forward to working with the entire team of directors to help guide Vringo’s future.”
