WARREN, N.J. -- J.D. Power and Associates announced that Virgin Mobile USA has been ranked the highest of America's Wireless Prepaid Services for Customer Satisfaction Excellence. In its 2006 Wireless Prepaid CSI Study, the first ever focused specifically on the prepaid or "Pay As You Go" market, J.D. Power and Associates ranked Virgin Mobile highest over all other carriers in the study.
Virgin Mobile ranked as the study's overall highest, well exceeding industry averages in all seven categories. Some of Virgin Mobile's specific strengths cited by consumers surveyed were the company's ease of replenishing an account, lack of extra charges for domestic long distance, ease of reaching a live customer service representative, variety of methods available to recharge an account, flexibility in plan choices and changes, and timeliness in making requested changes to service.
Overall, Virgin Mobile's performance exceeded industry standards in meeting customers' wireless service expectations. Virgin Mobile ranked strong across the board.
"From day one, Virgin Mobile has been committed to creating a consistently top-notch wireless experience that fosters high levels of satisfaction among our customers," said Virgin Mobile CEO Dan Schulman. "We built the entire company around the needs and desires of our youth audience, and this award validates our vision and approach."
Schulman continued: "We are extremely proud to receive this third party recognition, which is further validation of Virgin Mobile's total focus on our customers. And thanks to several initiatives kicked off in 2006 - such as enhanced user loyalty programs and pro-social efforts that enable young people to get directly involved with social issues - we hope to see Virgin Mobile rank even higher the next time around."
