(NASDAQ: ULCM) have signed an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement that brings Ulticom’s carrier-grade signaling capabilities to WaterCove’s award-winning Mobile Data Service System, a move designed to protect mobile network operators’ investment in current-generation voice switching, services and billing equipment while easing their migration to integrated voice and data networks. This combination allows mobile operators to provide highly reliable carrier-grade offerings that maximize the use of existing equipment as they evolve their networks to deliver new revenue-generating services.By incorporating the high performance, scalable and robust characteristics of Ulticom’s Signalware, WaterCove’s Mobile Data Service System will enable wireless operators around the world to quickly and cost effectively bring to market a range of premium data services, such as advanced prepaid charging, that take full advantage of existing network equipment and Signaling System Number Seven (SS7) based infrastructure. Ulticom’s carrier-grade Signalware software offers global interoperability, and has been deployed by more than 260 service providers in over 100 countries.WaterCove Networks’ Mobile Data Service System empowers carriers to deliver and effectively charge for a range of new, personalized mobile data services on 2.5G and 3G networks that will increase average revenue per user (ARPU) and reduce customer churn.
