STOCKHOLM -- Telia HomeRun has signed a roaming agreement for Wireless LAN (WiFi) with the Italian operator Megabeam. This is the first time in Europe that two wireless broadband network operators with existing networks sign a roaming agreement. The roaming capability between the networks is in operation as of today, allowing Telia HomeRun customers with monthly subscriptions to surf free of charge in Italy until August 31 this year. After this date, a price plan will be established for the service. Megabeam's network currently covers more than 70 percent of Italy's most important commercial airports.With Telia HomeRun, business travellers and other people wanting to surf wireless with mobile broadband access can connect to the Internet or their own corporate intranet. Telia HomeRun is available at more than 450 locations in the Nordic region and at several SAS international business lounges outside the region. Subscribers can also connect to the network in selected locations at airports, train stations, hotels, conference centres, sports facilities, roadside restaurants, cafés and workplaces.
