Tekelec announced that Pelephone Communications has selected the EAGLE 5 platform with integrated number portability (NP)

MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), a leading developer of high-performance network applications for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks announced that Pelephone Communications Ltd. has selected the EAGLE® 5 platform with integrated number portability (NP). The Tekelec solution will provide Pelephone, an Israeli code division multiple access (CDMA) third-generation (3G) wireless network technology operator, with increased flexibility and a cost-efficient solution.
Tekelec has contracted with Bynet Data Communications, a systems integrator based in Israel, to implement the solution and to provide local project management and professional services in voice signaling and data Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure to Pelephone.
The Tekelec solution, which can handle up to 96 million subscriber entries, will support Pelephone’s network expansion. In addition, the solution will enable porting for global systems for mobile communications (GSM) and CDMA technologies as well as fixed networks.
