Teem’s Metro EDWA optical amplifier series meets Telcordia standards

GRENOBLE, France -- Teem Photonics, a leading provider of ultra-compact photonic solutions for high bandwidth optical networks, today announced that its series of Metro EDWA™ optical amplifiers has met environmental and endurance test requirements in accordance with Telcordia GR-1312-CORE.Teem is the first EDWA manufacturer to meet industry standard requirements involving optical, mechanical and electrical specifications over a wide range of operating and storage temperatures. “This compliance to Telcordia GR-1312-CORE is an important next step in the EDWA reliability program initiated at Teem in 2001” says Andrew Benn, Product Line Manager for Active products. “We are pushing EDWA technology on all fronts, and reliability data is a key element in the Metro EDWA series program” .According to James McKenzie, VP Marketing & Business Development, Teem’s EDWA products are rapidly gaining acceptance with major customers. “The step-function reduction in price provided by Teem’s EDWA technology has emerged as a key differentiator”, he says.Three C-band versions of Metro EDWA are available for single-channel, narrow-band or DWDM applications in access and metropolitan networks where < 1 W power consumption, output power up to 15 dBm and optional gain flattening or integrated electronics are demanded.Teem PhotonicsTelcordia Technologies Inc.
