BELLEVUE, Wash. -- T-Mobile USA, Inc. confirms that on Nov. 29, the FCC granted the company 120 spectrum licenses covering the continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Islands, Alaska and major markets including New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago. The granting of these licenses fulfills T-Mobile's winning bids during the recent FCC Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) auction.

"T-Mobile is pleased to receive its AWS license grants from the FCC. The agency is to be commended for moving so rapidly to award these licenses," said Robert Dotson, president and CEO, T-Mobile USA. "I want to thank FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, the FCC Commissioners and the staff of the Wireless Bureau for their successful efforts in making this important spectrum available."

This acquisition of spectrum has doubled T-Mobile's spectrum position in the top 100 U.S. markets, which will facilitate a planned 2007 commercial rollout of 3G next-generation-network services to enhance core voice services, and deliver applications that will take consumer-based PC functionality mobile.
