PRAGUE -- EuroTel is becoming T-Mobile Slovensko - The Slovak mobile operator began a three week rebranding phase. By the beginning of May the written name “T-Mobile” will replace “EuroTel” in Slovakia.

With this, T-Mobile Slovensko becomes the ninth company to use the name of the mobile telecommunications subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile. It joins the T-Mobile family of companies in: the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia.

The extremely successful development of EuroTel in recent years clearly shows that the decision to get into the Slovak market was and continues to be the right one,” said René Obermann, CEO of T-Mobile International, on the occasion of the press conference in Bratislava. “Today we want to lift this partnership to a higher level and welcome the newly-minted T-Mobile Slovensko into the T-Mobile brand family.”

The 1,300 employee strong company is number two in the Slovak mobile telecommunications market with 1.9 million customers. In 2004 the operator generated total revenue of EUR 332 million (13.3 billion Slovak Koruna) and an EBITDA of EUR 123 million (approx. 5 billion Slovak Koruna).
