Stargen appoints Ralph Schmitt, EVP of sales, marketing, and business development at Cypress, to its board of directors

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- StarGen, a semiconductor company specializing in advanced serial switched interconnect solutions, today announced that Ralph Schmitt, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development for Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY), has joined StarGen’s board of directors.
Schmitt joins other industry and financial leaders on StarGen’s board, including: Zenas Hutcheson of Vesbridge Partners; Paul Levine of Morgenthaler Ventures; Steve McCormack of CommonWealth Capital Ventures; and Tony Abate of Ironside Ventures. Tim Miller, StarGen co-founder and CEO, and Todd Comins, StarGen co-founder and CTO, round out the board as management directors.
“As we enter a new phase of technology development and switched interconnect leadership, Ralph brings a wealth of semiconductor experience and expertise to our board,” Miller said. “He can provide us with a unique and independent market perspective on our business and product strategies, complementing the strong financial expertise of our current directors.”
As executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development at Cypress Semiconductor Corp., Schmitt is responsible for the company’s worldwide sales organization, field applications, channel operations, corporate marketing, mergers and acquisitions, eBusiness, business development and marketing communications. Schmitt also serves on the board of directors at Azanda Networks, a manufacturer of data traffic management solutions for high-speed optical linecards, and at Cypress MicroSystems, a Cypress Semiconductor Corp. subsidiary specializing in Programmable System-on-Chip™ (PSoC™) reprogrammable mixed signal arrays.
