Sonim and LG Electronics enter global partnership to deliver handsets using Sonim's push-to-talk over cellular client software

SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Sonim Technologies, the leader in enabling wireless data networks to deliver services including the Push-to-Talk (PTT) capability, along with LG Electronics, a leading provider of mobile phones to operators worldwide, today announced a global partnership that utilizes the Sonim PoC Client(TM) software. As part of Sonim's Instant Port(TM) handset program, Sonim and LG will jointly deliver handsets with Push-to-Talk capability based on the Push to talk over Cellular (PoC) phase 1 specification, ensuring world-wide and system-wide interoperability.

Sonim is a member of the worldwide consortium that submitted the PoC phase 1 specification to the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) on 15 August 2003. LG leverages Sonim's expertise in Push-to-Talk to quickly deliver handsets for the GSM, CDMA, WCDMA and CDMA2000 markets.
