OTTAWA -- Solidum, the leading provider of classification and content inspection processing solutions that enable intelligent application management in next generation networking equipment, is now sampling the PAX.port 2500T classification processor, which performs wire-speed, full classification, content inspection and regular expression matching at 2.5 Gigabits per second. The PAX.port 2500 is an Application Specific Standard Product (ASSP) classification processor that can be used in a streaming architecture to achieve multi-Gigabit packet processing and classification. It is optimized for Layer 7 content inspection and classification at OC-48 in content switches/load balancers, content security devices, multi-service switches, IP services gateways, cable modem termination systems, edge routers, protocol analyzers, and fixed broadband wireless access stations. "We received the processor back from the fab earlier this month, as scheduled, and it passed all our initial tests. We are now shipping samples to customers," says Richard White, President and CEO, Solidum. "This processor is further proof that our high performance PAX.core engines can perform as designed to look deep into a packet to find and identify the relevant bits of interest, which enable intelligent processing of data for application-aware IP networks.
