SINGAPORE -- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) today launched SingTel AMPed, an interactive music experience for postpaid mobile customers. This unique service, developed in strategic partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG), is the first-of-its-kind in Asia that goes beyond offering unlimited music downloads.

AMPed customers can access music videos, the latest entertainment news and gossip, as well as pre-album releases for free. There will also be opportunities for them to meet their favourite stars and interact online with like-minded music fans. The multi-platform service will be available on the widest range of 3G handsets across brands, which is another outstanding feature of AMPed.

Mr Allen Lew, SingTel’s CEO Singapore, said: “SingTel, with Universal Music Group, will take our customers’ mobile music experience to unprecedented heights with AMPed. AMPed is another demonstration of SingTel’s transformation into a multimedia solutions company and how we are constantly developing new and innovative solutions that are relevant to our customers’ needs.”

Mr Rob Wells, Senior Vice President of Digital from Universal Music Group International, said: “Universal Music is extremely happy to be part of the launch of AMPed in Singapore which we truly believe will redefine the landscape of digital music services in the market. With the roll-out of AMPed, SingTel customers will be in step with some of the best digital music offerings worldwide.”
