TORQUAY, U.K. -- Exhibiting at the Photonics West exhibition in San Jose, SIFAM Fibre Optics is presenting a full range of advanced high power components for high power fibre laser and amplifier applications based on its world leading fused fibre technology.

High Power Combiners are most commonly supplied in 1x7 configurations and comprise either all multimode (MM) fibre or with dissimilar fibres in special6+1x1 format. In this case the central fibre is a different diameter and6+has analternative function such as feed through of the signal in a high power amplifier.

There are many new High Power Combiner configurations being created at present and SIFAM Fibre Optics is dominating this market based its on 20 years experience of design and manufacture of custom fused components.

Ultra-low ratio tap couplers enable photodetectors to monitor input or output from systems working at high optical powers without saturation or damage. Manufactured to exacting tolerances they remain stable and linear in performance as the power increases.

In addition to these specific components designed for high power there are many customers who use SIFAM WDMs and couplers, customised in their high power applications, manufactured in a variety of fibre types and operating over a wide range of wavelengths.

Completing the portfolio, SIFAM Fibre Optics offers a wide range of high performance Polarisation Maintaining (PM) fused fibre components; low loss PM Combiners, PM Tap Couplers, PM WDMs as well as custom PM modules, for higher port count or integrated applications.

Exhibiting at the Photonics West exhibition in San Jose, SIFAM Fibre Optics is presenting a complete design and build capability for discrete active packaged photonic components.

This flexible service is ideal for small/medium volume manufacture of qualified components or for customers who wish to develop prototype or research devices into commercial products. Catering for bespoke photonic solutions for customers in various markets such as Aerospace and Defence, Biomedical and Industrial the new service is already proving really popular.

SIFAM Fibre Optics provides a complete service undertaking projects at any stage in the design and development process: from outline sketch to contract manufacture. As required a concept can be transformed through design, packaging, testing and qualification to manufacture in volume at our UK based, purpose built ISO9001 qualified facility.

Company CEO, Paul Ellis stated "We are using experience built up over many years, and are designing and manufacturing high quality photonic packaging for active devices including thermal management issues, die attach, active alignment, wire bonding, hermetic sealing and fibre feedthrough."
