HERNDON, Va. -- RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI - News), a local leading provider of triple-play high-speed internet, cable and phone services, today announced that it continues to expand its coverage area in the Boston Metropolitan area.

"RCN is excited to be expanding our services in Massachusetts and bringing our triple-play bundle now to residents in Milton, Dorchester, Mattapan and the Roslindale sections of the City of Boston," said Richard Wadman, senior vice president and general manager of RCN Boston. "We've completed construction that enables us to reach more customers in the Roslindale area and ongoing construction will soon make RCN services available to more homes in Dorchester."

In addition, Wadman explained that the Milton Board of Selectmen agreed to an extension of RCN's existing cable franchise last week and construction is already underway.

This means that residents in these areas will now be able to enjoy RCN's extremely fast internet speeds, high-quality television programming, and residential phone service. RCN's triple-play bundle combines Internet, cable, and phone services with the convenience of one bill and integrated customer service and technological support for all of its customers.

"We appreciate the cooperation and flexibility shown by the local municipal and franchise authorities who are eager to provide consumers with a choice in telecommunications and cable services," said Thomas Steel, RCN's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. "The real beneficiaries are the customers who will have another choice as they make their decisions on which company they want to do business with, and we will work very hard to show them we deserve to be their home town service provider of choice."
